Position: Office Administrator
Job Description: As an office administrator at Lounsbury you will support multiple operation across the company. This will include supporting our accounting department in a variety of tasks including payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable administrative support. General office administrative duties will also be part of the day-to-day activities which may include coordinating with vendors, building maintenance personal, and completing office equipment maintenance and cleaning. Assistance with planning company events and marketing may also be required. In addition, this candidate may be responsible for tracking and reporting various safety metrics throughout the company as part of our Health and Safety Program. Logistics and expediting support will also be a large part of this position. Frequent trips to air cargo and other shipping companies can be expected.
Skill Requirements: This person should have strong communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. A willingness to learn and work on a wide range of tasks will be required. You should have a good understanding of basic computer skills with a strong understanding Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with accounting related or graphic design software is also a plus but not required. I good driving record will also be required as there will be a fair amount of logistical support. You must be in good physical condition with the ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Position: Professional Civil Engineer
The Opportunity: Help Alaska develop its infrastructure and help our communities stay safely on the move.
Due to continued success and business growth, Lounsbury and Associates Anchorage and Wasilla offices are seeking a Professional Engineer to join our team. Our Professional Civil Engineer jobs provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting and engaging infrastructure projects ranging from challenging rural road projects, commercial site development projects, fish passage, stream restoration, utility design, hydraulic design and large-scale urban freeway and interchange projects. This position is full time.
Each day, you will utilize your skills and contribute to work on planning, design, and construction in connection with complex, multi-disciplined projects. In this position you will be exposed to a wide range of projects involving traffic operational analyses, safety studies, and roadway planning, geometric design, site design, hydraulic design, and construction support. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures to complete your assigned tasks in a team environment.
Essential Duties: Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a BSCE in Civil Engineering. This position requires a minimum of ten years of experience. Licensure as a Professional Civil Engineer or the ability to obtain this license within one year of employment, is required.
This position performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of transportation and site development projects. Typical project work includes site layout, grading, drainage, and utility plans, as well as design of horizontal alignment, vertical alignment and earthwork quantity calculations. Our clients include the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, the Municipality of Anchorage, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, the Department of Defense and many small local governments and private clientele.
Effective verbal and written communication skills are important for client interaction and career advancement. Experience working with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.
Working closely with senior engineers and project managers, our Professional Civil Engineers:
- Use experience in civil engineering including roadway geometric design, drainage design, traffic control, grading, utilities, signing, and pavement marking design to prepare project designs for bidding and construction.
- May serve in Responsible Charge on a variety of projects.
- Attend project, client and public meetings and may present on elements of work.
- Use design software including Civil 3D, AutoCAD and HEC-RAS to prepare 3D digital terrain models, earthwork estimates, project footprints and hydraulic calculations.
Salary and Benefits: Salaries range from $100,000 to $120,000 per year depending on experience.

Job Description: As a Survey Technician you will perform an assortment of technical office and/or field survey related tasks on a multitude of projects for public and private sector clients. You will be responsible for helping ensure projects follow applicable accuracy and technical standards per project requirements. You will assist in the execution and preparation of project deliverables such as plats, maps, reports, electronic AutoCAD drawings, etc. You will work under the direct supervision of a Licensed Land Surveyor. You will be required to lead by example in Lounsbury’s Incident Free Safety Culture we have established.
Skill Requirements: This person should have strong communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. A basic understanding of land surveying laws, practices, technologies and how they are applied to an assortment of projects is beneficial. You should have a general understanding of some of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, GPS Processing Software, ESRI, and Carlson Survey software. Experience performing Horizontal and Vertical Control, Topographic, Right of Way, Boundary, Construction Layout, and Hydrographic surveys is beneficial. This position could require the ability to perform both office and/or field survey functions though an individual may specialize in one or the other. If needed a willingness to perform your duties at a remote location or office on large scale projects for extended periods of time would also be desired.

Skill Requirements: This person should have excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment. A fundamental understanding of land surveying laws, practices, technologies and how they are applied to an assortment of projects is required. You should have a moderate to advanced understanding of some of the following programs: Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, GPS Processing Software, ESRI, and Carlson Survey software. Experience performing Horizontal and Vertical Control, Topographic, Right of Way, Boundary, Construction Layout, and Hydrographic surveys is essential. The ability to mentor junior staff to obtain the skills required to also become a Licensed Land Surveyor is a plus. This position would require the ability to perform both office and field survey functions. A willingness to perform your duties at a remote location or office on large scale projects for extended periods of time occasionally would also be desired.
