RIDING ALONE

No crew member is to go out on a job alone. However there are tasks that may be accomplished by one employee safely. Plan the task and stay in your tracks out and back. For example, if a foresight has to be set, or a backsight needs to be picked up, one crewman can do that job alone. This example does demonstrate the need for a specific task to be accomplished with the plan known to all, and when the crewman will return to the crew.

Scouting for routes or crossings will always be done by at least two crewmen.
